The Summit Awards is organised by Entrepreneurial Scotland and STV. By your continued use of our web sites, you consent to the collection and use of your personal information for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy. Entrepreneurial Scotland is the data holder for the awards process.

When you complete a nomination form on our website, we may ask you for the following personal data relating to the person nominating (nominator) and the individual you are nominating (nominee).

This includes name, e-mail address, postal address and telephone number(s). This is so we can contact you or the nominee easily if required.

How do we use your information?
Any personal data relating to you will be used and recorded by us in accordance with current data protection legislation and this Privacy Policy. We use the information collected from you to help in any issues you may have relating to this website or the Entrepreneurial Scotland website. We may use your personal information to communicate with you, for record keeping purposes, and in aggregate (and therefore anonymously) for market research purposes, to track activity on our site, to publish trends and/or to improve usefulness and content.

We do not sell, trade or rent your personal information to other parties.

Sharing details with partners

If you enter The Summit Awards or purchase an award ticket for the website, we may allow our partners to provide you with news and special offers. We may share personal information with specific partners* who support the Summit Awards, these partners can be provided upon request at If at any time you choose not to receive notifications you may do so by sending your request to

Judges for the Summit Awards sign a confidentiality agreement prior to commencement of the judging process. Entry information is kept confidential unless consent of the company / individual is confirmed. Our judges reserve the right to contact nominees as part of the short-listing stage of the awards process.

The Summit Awards may provide aggregate statistics about our nominees, sales, traffic patterns, and related site information to our sponsors/partners of the awards, but these statistics will not include personally identifying information.

Our awards process will be judged by a number of partners including Deloitte. Once nominations close, entries will be passed to the relevant partner responsible for judging their nominated categories. Those applicants who are successfully shortlisted will be contacted by the relevant partner related to each category for a 1-1 meeting and invited to meet with our judging panel on in October/November in Glasgow.

Use of data for marketing purposes
By entering the awards, the nominator and nominee understands that the information they provide about their nominee’s business (excluding turnover and pre-tax profit information which will remain confidential at all time) will only be used by the Summit Awards or their partners* with consent of the nominee in terms of publicity.

* Partner companies are those Sponsors and organisations who support the Summit Awards and follow in the aims and principles of the Awards – towards creating a more successful Entrepreneurial Scotland.
